BOYS Winter Sixes! Worried about Stick Skills slipping over the winter? Worried about fighting to get your kid to hit the bounce back? Worried about Thanksgiving Turkey, Christmas Cookies, and Video Games ruining their conditioning? Just want to get your kids out of the house? We have a solution! This winter we are excited to announce that the Pope Junior Lacrosse program will be hosting 5 FREE winter sixes play days for the boys. If you haven't seen or experienced sixes yet it is a high speed version of lacrosse with lots of scoring and lots of running. The game is played on a smaller field with 5 middies and 1 goalie on the field for each team. No long poles, no body checking; just good fundamental lacrosse. This opportunity is open to all players U9 through U15, but we do recommend that players have at least 1 season of experience before playing. Full pads are required. Teams will be put together on site and age splits will depend on the players present that day. Games will be on Sunday afternoons 11/13, 12/4, 12/17, 1/8, and 1/15. The time and location will be communicated at a later date, but we are hoping to have use of the Pope stadium on the listed Sundays starting at 1pm. Players must register to play and they must have a current USA Lacrosse number. There is no cost to participate outside of renewing your USA Lacrosse membership. Pope Junior Greyhound Lacrosse is a volunteer run youth lacrosse program,
dedicated to teaching and promoting the game of lacrosse to players of all
skill levels. We pride ourselves in providing a safe environment for our
players, coaches, and parents.
Our positive instruction is focused on learning lacrosse fundamentals
through active participation, fair play, and friendly competition. We promote
the values of good sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect for all players,
coaches, officials, competitors, and parents.
Pope Junior Greyhound Lacrosse is a member of the Positive Coaching
Alliance where winning is important, but teaching life lessons is more
important.
